Hey guys

So I just went and test drove a 2016 STI, 2015 Evo, 2016 5.0, and 2016 2.3L Ecoboost Mustang!

First Thoughts;

Evo was by far the fastest with little turbo lag and awesome traction. However, the inside was nothing special the car was 35k

STI was probably 3rd fastest falling behind the 5.0 but had an awesome interior with the quality of Subaru. Price was 37k

Mustangs were fun but WAY to big of front end, I drove them just to test the power. The 5.0 has pure muscle power with almost no lag and comes in at 40k. While the 2.3 was really really slow and I hope their are not using this same engine in the Ford Focus RS!

Anyway I am buying a new car here within 6 months and want some opinions of others. Please feel free to give any advice

The 5.0 is by far the fastest. Like substantially faster. The evo and the sti are very close.

The build quality on the evos are garbage and I still don't trust subaru reliability. The 5.0 is the better car by a ways.

Man I just cant get over that mustang front end, ITS MASSIVE!! Also I have always enjoyed 4 cylinder engines for some reason so I am bias!
However, that 2.3L Ecoboost was so weak man! Ford was very disappointing in the 4 cylinder race! I really hope the new RS will be a different engine.

But for the 5.0 yes it was very fast I just dont want to spend over 40k on a car! Plus that frontend like I said is just not my style..

Buying a $6000 block shouldn't be a requirement to making your car reliable.

like I said, never had any reliability problems with all the Subaru I've owned.

Most of the STi engine with headgaskets problems n shit are just beaten up to death.

I've met an old man, bought his 2004 Sti brand new, close to 200k miles on his car. still running strong.

if u plan on beating the shit out of ur sti, u gonna need a new block after 100k miles for sure, treat ur sti well and u won't have any issues :)

Yeah man I have wanted an STI my entire life.. But then I drove an Evo and was just astonished at how much power it had!! I will not argue with you that an STI or Evo is a better car because they are literally almost the same, but the mods on an Evo are cheaper plus you dont need to mod an Evo for quite a while..

However for mustang people I just dont see my self driving a Mustang and thats probably it..

Buy a mustang if you want to show how small your penis is B)

Both Evos and STi's have their problems. Evo, tranny problems, STi, engine problems.

moral of the story, treat it good and you'll be fine. don't go cheap on maintenance.

+ if you have winter, you'll love the AWD.
