If it's cold outside, I heard don't warm up by idoling it, but drive it slow and easy first 5 minutes to your destination as it is more efficient.
thoughts?
Perfect. My routine is starting the Jeep, going back inside and filling up my coffee cup then leaving. Longest it warms up is 2-4 minutes in the winter. Normally the Jeep warms up for 30 seconds to one minute while I'm fastening my seat belt, setting radio, plugging in phone....

I think it's a reference to "the olden times" our grandparents used to tell us about.
Same place where they used to have to walk to school barefoot, in the snow, uphill, both ways.
^ good1!
The idea of letting your car idle before driving it so the engine can warm up to optimal temperatures dates back to the 80s and early 90s when vehicles were built with carburetors. Modern-day fuel injection technology, advanced computer systems for delivery that automatically adjusts distribution in whatever temperature you're in and common, thinner synthetic oils get your engine lubricated much quicker.
