Was thinking about getting a jeep wrangler.

Only use would be offroading

Anything better than a jeep? I'm new to this stuff

Nothing in today's lineup will be very good at all offroad. Jeeps are probably your best bang for your buck when talking in a stock form.

Honestly, if you want to do any kind of offroading on a regular basis there will be some simple things you will want to have. You can build a budget offroader pretty cheap.

that's what i figured, just I know they're not reliable.

Let's say I had 10k for a toy. Would it buy me a nice offroader that will last a bit? (used of course)

easily.

The bronco 2's make great mud trucks but their wheelbase is really narrow for crawling and trails. We bought one and destroyed it one weekend. Was a tough little shit.

If you had 10k to blow, id build a badass samurai. I absolutely love the narrowness in the woods.
