HID conversion is going to be more work and cost more than just replacing your stock bulbs with a better one.

done right they are a big upgrade for sure, but the cost of converting usually isn't worth the trouble which is why most people just throw them in without projectors which is almost entirely only for looks as its generally worse performance at night when installed wrong.

if you want to do a HID conversion and the price/work isn't an issue then yes do it because they are much better overall.

This. If you are going to retrofit HID's do it right. I run Sylvania Silverstar Ultras in my stuff since i care about light output more than color and i'm not doing an HID conversion. It is a pretty big upgrade over stock. They also make a zXe bulb that is supposed to mimic the color of HID's. If you have older sealed beam stuff good luck.

Do you have the sylvanias in your cummins? I can run my fogs with high beams, but I think some new bulbs would be worth it.

Yes i do. I'm running them for lamps and fogs. I can't stand a color mismatch. They aren't crazy bright but it is waaay better than the old stockers. The ultras made the fogs worth using in inclement weather.

HIDS are hit or miss. Doesnt matter on the price nor the company. I've seen $40 kits shit the bed in less than 24 hours just as often as I've seen $250. I've also seen both last 2 years+. Like I said, hit or miss. If you do install HIDS, get it done right. They're super finicky.

Ive never had a problem with hids, very easy to install.

Most companies will replace bad products for free too

I got a $60 kit and have used it for 2 years with no problem I run whites, extremely bright and efficient

Hids are plug and play, attach ballast to stock wire, ballast to hid bulb, install, mount ballast. Dont touch the bulb with your fingers, use gloves. Bulb will explode under heat with finger oils on it.

There is nothing difficult about installing them, takes under 30 minutes
