My town is 20 years behind the pack, so a harbor freight just opened... Going to have buyers remorse tomorrow..

1000v screwdriver set
STD t handle allen wrenches from 3/16 up to 5/8
Square magnetic tip set
4 lb maul
1/4, 5/16 and 1/2 magnetic tips
tin snips
Flash light

all came out to under 40 bucks, going back thursday, thinking about picking up a 20 ton hydraulic press.. Dirt cheap, and at least the frame is good, I can replace the pump if need be.

Hand tools are fine cause they get the job done, but wouldn't trust anything that is used as support like their jacks or jack stands.... lifted up my camry and bent the arm lol, it was a 4 ton jack.

Pretty much.. I need them for very slight fabricating, like cutting a hole in a tight to reach stud to run my conduit through..

I also found a knock out set from 1/2 inch to 2 inch for 25 bucks.. I'm thinking about trying them.. Greenlees set is 180 lol.

Their hand tools are ok as long as you treat them like the potmetal cast chinese junk that they are.

ie

don't put one of their sockets on a breaker bar
don't exert abnormal pressure on any screwdrivers

Their prybars are decent

Be careful with that maul, I had one split on me. That could have been ugly.

Any of their stuff with a mechanical linkage or gearset is shit so ratchets and the like are out of the question

I have their 2 1/2 ton low profile jack for getting under sports cars. 5000lb rating... it will lift half an F-body so figure the actual capacity is 1 ton. If you try to lift the corner of a pickup with it the seals are going to be on the floor of your garage. Their light duty jackstands are scary. The heavy duty ones are actually pretty decent. I have had my 8000lb truck on 4 of them with no problem. I'd be hesitant to buy the press unless you really have a need for it but don't use it often. The occasional wheel bearing would probably be fine but anything hydraulic is on borrowed time.

I buy magnets and little one off tools that I rarely use from HF. I also have a full 1/4 and 3/8 drive socket set from them that I use when someone wants to borrow tools. If they lose them or break them it is cheap for them to replace and idc.

Actually when I was working at a dealership, I bought a set of 3/8 impact swivel head sockets from snap-on, and they kept busting.. went and got a harbor freight set aND I still have them.

The handle broke on the maul? Or the head?
