kay so i drive a 2001 eclipse spider V6.

For the passed few weeks indicator lights have come on while driving.

Brake+battery light and the TCL+Anti lock lights come on

While driving at night, the head lights go crazy sometimes. It literally looks like I'm flashing my brights constantly.

One thing I'ven oticed, the Brake+battery lights tend to turn off while the car is getting gas/accelerating.

I've googled a few things and it could be like Wiring that's loose, the alternator, or the battery (not it).

Tomorrow I'm getting an alternator but could it NOT be the alternator?

I know battery+Brake and antilock+TCL are two different problems

When teh battery+brake light comes on i know my headlights are out/one is.

The lights themselves, there's nothing wrong with (i think). Sometimes they turn on and other times they don't, so i gotta roll around with my brights on (they weak AS FUCK so i never get flashed to shuttem down)

I can start it fine with a jump/if the battery was charged before hand. Sometimes though I'll levae and the anti lock/TCL lights will pop on before I've even used much power

Is that expensive? Is it more likely that than the alternator?

It is part of the alternator on most modern cars. Your lights and error lights are acting stupid because you are running on low voltage. 99% it's the alternator.

I had the same car with the same problem. Your diode is open and acting like the charging system is working fine when it's not. It is your alternator.

Easy way to check is, turn on your car, remove battery, if the car dies, it is because your alternator is not charging your vehicle. Once the car is on, it does not "necessarily" need a battery to continue functioning. That is what the alternator does.

Don't do this. That is NOT an appropriate way to test your alternator. It IS an appropriate way to potentially hurt something.

You'll probably have the new alternator swapped (and a working car) by the time you read this, but for the love of god, don't pull the battery with the car running.

The battery does a lot more than people realize. I was going to explain it, but instead of type on my phone i found a pretty basic article explaining.

A multimeter will tell you everything you'd need to know, in a matter of seconds, to determine if the voltage regulator is the problem. Which yeah, I agree. Your regulator sounds shot.

So what is wrong with disconnecting the positive battery cable for 5 seconds while the car is running. If the Alternator is bad, the car will die instantly. Plus the ground is still connected to ground out any power surges.
