I totaled my 1998 Toyota Corolla about 2 weeks ago and Farmers insurance is saying that the car is worth 3,100. I've put $600 into repairs and parts into this car within the last two months before I crashed it and submitted all the receipts to prove it.(This has not been accounted for in what they offered me yet.)

I'm looking on Craigslist to see what other people are trying to sell theirs for and the ones I've seen that private sellers are trying to get 3,000+ for have ~150k-200k miles on them and many of them are salvaged titled mine only has 111k on it and had a clean title at the time of the crash. The only ones I can find that came really close in miles are from dealerships and their price tags are anywhere from 4000-5500 but dealerships tend to overprice the shit out of anything so I don't know if they're giving me a decent offer or not. KBB values the car at about 2,000 but Corollas are always desired and retain a much higher value than KBB's estimates.

I'd post links of similar cars to mine to show the prices but I don't know if I can get suspended for doing it so I'd rather not.

Do you think this is fair or should I fight it?

You can't hope to get much more. It may not be worth fighting over it. Nada clean trade in value would be a good number to shoot for imo.

The High Desert in California. These cars are highly desired where I live for people who commute because tons of people work 'Down the hill' which can be anywhere from a 45 minute to hour and 30 minute drive.

Good DDs pretty much bottom out at 3k around here. Anything cheaper than that usually has multiple problems.

lol wut give me $1500 and I'll find a car with no rust that can be driven for the next 3 years without problems and only regular maintenance.
