I saw this for the first time today. Lingenfelter is one of the few companies out there dumping lots of time and money into new product development for modern LSX racers. This video is from 2011 but they have since perfected it and Liberty gear has finished developing a straight cut gear set for T56's which makes it even more reliable than a faceplated or pro shifted trans. They are using a modified version of their LNC-002 2 step system which is very popular. This one is providing a momentary torque cut to allow a clutchess shift under full power. That is a feature that all of the aftermarket ECU's have (Bigstuff3, Motec, etc). They are doing it through the OEM ECU which is pretty cool. In this video they are testing the kill time associated with the shift. The shifter has a load cell installed that sends a 5v signal to the module when it senses you are attempting to move the shifter out of gear and into the next one. They are spraying both stages of nitrous. This is just something I ran across that I thought was pretty cool and the video has a good sound to it haha.

Well with the faceplated trans you wouldn't be doing a whole bunch of street driving. You can do it but it's not a pleasant experience. You wouldn't want to use the torque cut and do a WOT shift on anything other than slicks/radials on a prepped track haha.

1200whp on the street and a clutchless shift=shocking the tires and you wreck/die

A faceplated transmission has been modified extensively. The synchros are removed for 1-4 gear and a star shaped flange is welded on to the end of each gear. It forces the trans to go into gear when you shift it. Synchros have a bad habit of causing missed shifts at high rpm/high power.
