My budget limit is $8,000 give or take. Prefer it to be Toyota, Nissan, Honda, sister companies or Asian cars in general. I'm staying away from Euro cars as they tend to be a tad expensive to fix.

I want it to be an economic car; Sedan, Coupe, Hatchback body style preferred. I live in NA. Year 2000+

Listing pros and cons will be very helpful, as well as if they have any recalls on specific years of the model or which year is best to get.

Currently being very biased and leaning towards a Toyota Celica 7th gen as I've owned two generations of them now and will be 3rd if I decide to get another. Looking for suggestions to possibly sway me another way ^_^

Any other questions to help you suggest a car, feel free to ask.

I just sold my 2000 celica gt yesterday as I recently purchased a brZ.

I had the celica for 8 years and never had any issues other than regular maintenance.

With an 8 grand budget, you can afford a very clean one, if you can find one.

If not a celica, I would try to go for something newer perhaps. You could grab a decent civic with 8k

I'm thinking of an '03 or new celica since I heard that the early models have issues with the master cylinders as well as being equipped with DBW which in terms is a tad more costly for repairs.

Civic is another option, though I've never really been a fan of them. Though the newer ones are actually quite nice now, which years would you recommend?

if youve had good luck with celicas and like them then just get another one imo. i cant really help you with what years to get and what to look out for but other than a celica i would get a honda accord they seem to be reliable cars. i would be more wary of civics because boyracers think theyre ayrton senna when they get one and usually ruin them.
