Aw, chit son, you've got LOADS of options.

There's all kinds of scooter clubs in / around Los Angeles. You see a lot of people riding Vespas and Piaggios. Price varies WILDLY.

There's also scooters from makers like Honda, that are perfectly serviceable. If you're just looking for cheap wheels to get you from point A to point B, you can sometimes score a used scoot for a grand.

I'm in San Gabriel valley, m'self (out by Pasadena.) I'll ask around, see if anyone knows of any scooters on the market.
