New to me anyways! Wanted to share!
She purdy in that firetruck red.

Last truck was a 99 Ram 1500 5.9 4x4 6 inch lift 35s 4.10 gears, kept having shit go wrong with it, being from the factory or previous owners fault.
Spent way to much money on it and didn't wanna spend another dime, plus paying for the gas in it was getting old, still got a truck but I expect to get at least 70% better gas mileage if I keep my foot of it.

And here's the new one :
01 Silverado Z71 93k miles 3.73 gears, has new tires, rhino lined, body and inside is in perfect shape, I couldn't find a flaw anywhere after going over it with a fine tooth comb, same with the undercarriage and under the hood..no accidents reported.

The pics where taken off their website, didnt wanna take pics of my own, no point plus its raining.

Very common problems I seen online with this truck was
1. Ignition problems, this truck has had that replaced already
2. Fuel Sensor problems, this truck has that issue (saying the truck is on Empty or way off) the people I brought it from said bring it back in a couple of days if it is still doing it and they will pay to fix it though.

Good swap. The GMT800's are very reliable trucks.

Awesome! What I was wanting to hear haha, at 93k miles and in perfect shape (assuming she was rode gentle) it should last me a long time I hope. :bouncy:

Its actually a really nice find. Its hard to find these trucks with low mileage in good shape. They hold their value incredibly well. 99-02 Z71's with 250k+ miles are still going for $6k+ on craigslist around here.

Expect a trans rebuild between 180k and 250k. Expect a water pump replacement between 120k and 180k. Fuel pump between 160k and 250k (running under 1/4 tank often will decrease life)

Have the coolant system flushed. Dexcool works great for decreasing corrosion but when it gunks up, its bad. 5yrs/100k... it could have the original coolant. If it is completely flushed and clean you can swap to standard green coolant if you want.

Being an extended cab z71 it should have the "ho" engine option. There is a possibility that it is an L33 which is an aluminum block.

I was debating putting a new muffler on it
Something that was quite inside the truck but still had a nice sound outside the truck..dont want it loud though.
I was thinking a Flowmaster 50 series? Or some magnaflow muffler, any suggestions?
I want to eventually add a CAI and headers as well?
That do anything for mpg?

JDH,Apr 30 2014 04:16pm]sorry bout that g80 code :(

What you mean sorry about the G80
Is that bad? google results pretty much say it's a good thing

Google said
"the g80 is a eaton automatic locker. it is sometimes called a limited slip and works the same way but when it feels wheel spin in excess of I think 25 rpms (something like that) it fully locks (equal power to both wheels). whereas a limited slip will transfer power but will still send more power to the wheel with less traction. It then will unlock when vehicle speed is greater than 25 mph, or you stop, no wheelspin etc. It uses a bunch of cluth plates to do this."

Look at this demonstration, G80 rapes :o
