Need to buy a new(er) car and there is a decent deal for a 2008 Nissan Maxima SE on CL that is within my budget. I read it had the same engine as a G35 and decent gas mileage (20/26). Anyone have an opinion or any experience with these cars? I'd prefer the FWD as it does snow here randomly.

Thanks!!!

It is the 3.5

I just started reading about them :P

Apparently they are able to tow up to 1000lb? I wonder if I could tow my quad on a small personal trailer. That would be awesome!

very solid cars. the last model of that generation which imo is the way better looking. very nice interiors, and alot of power....actually too much power for a fwd car some would say (torque steer)

overall though definitely a good choice

My cousin has a 2007 I believe and it has the CVT transmission. I was pretty skeptical when he first got it but he has a shit ton of miles on it now and its still going strong.

There is a good one occasionally but mostly they are crap. Nissans are by far the worst of the Japanese manufacturers. The maxima is a lot better than the altima, but that's not saying a whole lot. I'm constantly having to put transmissions in them at work and a lot of the 2.5 engines in the altima.
