hey guys, so i have a crap car that I'm trying to make last through college, and it's been giving me trouble lately

I took my girlfriends dog out one morning for her, and when I hopped in my car to drive back to my apartment, the engine wouldn't turn over (which has happened a couple times in recent past, but usually after a few tries it starts up again)

But this time it has seemed to stop wanting to work at all

I have managed to get the engine to turn over a couple times through trial and error of turning the key in the ignition, but nothings starts up.

can anyone help me out? from what i've read, it could either be the ignition switch or solenoid switch or something like that

First step: Check battery voltage.

That's NOT an accurate reading.

Just because your lights work, and your door dings, DOESN'T mean you have the amperage required to make the motor spin, and fire.

Don't just look at your voltmeter either.

Get/borrow a multimeter and check the voltage at the battery.

I took it to autozone like 4 days ago and they said it was fine, I bought it less than 2 years ago.

I honestly can't help you if you don't provide me accurate information.

Just because the dude working minimum wage at autozone says the battery is "fine" doesn't tell us anything.

Quantifiable data! That's what I need to know.

Then I may be able to ACCURATELY determine your problem.

I need a number.

You're missing one or more of the following 3 things.

Spark
Fuel
Compression

good luck

Also, what make/model/year is the car in question?

Sorry, I really thought I provided all this info lol

It's a 1994 camry, I'm pretty sure it's the starter solenoid/starter contacts or ignition switch
