I have an 03 Dakota (v6) that will not stay running..
It ran fine up until I let a friend use it to run another friend home. When he got back, he left the ignition all the way back, which keeps the radio on. Next few days it reached about -30 Celsius and my battery completely drained.
I went to start it yesterday and it wouldn't even attempt to crank..
We've tried boosting it, as well as bypassing the battery by disconnecting the negative terminal and hooking up to that.

The engine starts but dies as soon as it fires.

Any suggestions?

you cant run electronics on alternator alone. you need to get a new battery. you know its bad so change it. gonna cost you about 100 dollars.
