My personal choice would be the yota, but thats because it will get better mpg, and I would RARELY be towing anything. Hope that gives you some insight.

Get the tacoma. Better dd if your not using the truck as a steady work horse. Better mpg, smaller, imports last, tacomas are boss. ETC

Have any of you actually owned a tacoma? Its not a 1/2 ton and the mileage is not that great. Same as the ranger and colorado. If you are considering a 1/2 ton you shouldn't be looking at 1/4 tons and vice versa.

I had a 1/4 ton with the same motor they usef in 1/2 tons and some 3/4 tons
I loved it, nothing like havibg half the weight but same pulling power as a 1500 or bigger in a dakota
1994 318 dakotsa ftw
Thing was a pig on fuel ofc but the big motor in a little truck is awsome. And i thibk i was the only one dumb enough to push my truck to its true limits but i would pull/cary more than any of my frienda with those 1500 chevys at 16-18 years old
No word of a lie , but u ever see 2 tons of scrap metal in a 1/4 ton? Done it more times thn i can count. Bush machines and torchs ftw, skidder chains, etc

I only got 20 in my 4cyl 5 speed ranger.
07+ 5.3 silverados are 14/19 17avg for a 2wd. Mileage is basically the same.
