so basically in the coming spring/summer I plan on buying a new vehicle. right now I'm torn between these 2 options:

1) keep my acura tsx (low kms, very good condition, reliable, good looking) and buy a motorcycle (not a crotch rocket, probably a nice cruiser such as http://motorcycle.honda.ca/cruiser/VT750C_Phantom/2013 )

2) sell my tsx and buy some faster/sportier such as a 2012-2013 mustang gt, frs or brz (lul cliche choices I know), 3.8 gt genesis, etcetc anything that fits into this category at about a 25k or under max budget (so many cars I'd look at nothing is set in stone, really do like the 5.0 mustangs though). will need a winter beater for out here in Ottawa though.

the cons of having a bike would be expensive insurance (although the price of a brand new bike and a year insurance would be considerably cheaper than the car(s) I'm looking at), dangerous, only able to ride in nice conditions a few months of the year which is fine

the cons of buying a new car would be alot more expensive, insurance would still be more, would likely need to pay for winter storage, will need a winter car = even more on the insurance

just asking for peoples opinions although I don't expect greatness from this forum

my insurance got cheaper the more vehicles I insured. I have 2 cars and a motorcycle for not much more than what my main vehicle was with full coverage.

ya I tried calling my insurance company tonight but the person I need to speak to leaves at 4 pm.

also you're considerably older than me, I'm 22 years old...which definitely plays a factor of course

Mine was also cheaper when I added Home insurance and another vehicle and I was 23 at that time.

Only about 8 months until 25!

ya I'll need to see what insurance would be on one of those + a winter car + potential storage in the winter(s) would be. once I crunch some numbers I can make a clearer decision because as of right now it can go eitherway

with a bike at least I won't need to pay for storage + I can just keep my comfy/economic car + have a sweet "toy" for summers and weekend cruising or w/e...then again idk what insurance will be on that and also the fact that one serious crash = death/seriously fucked up is pretty scary

Put down to fire and theft in the winter. Like $10 a month? Ive never done it but i assume they hAve a winter storing insurance package not just fire and theft. But ya same shit

A friends parents use to do this for one of their vehicles and it was like $12 a month IIRC

im 19 and with liability on my bike along with my car my total is 75 a month. both liability. um i know for the bike it would be 40 for full coverage and the car is 170 or so a month. i pay $10 a month for my bike insurance. i know with a newer bike itll be a bit more but just giving you some numbers, oh im 19 with a ticket btw.

Also bikes arent scary, its the shitty drivers around you that you gotta worry about. If you are not stupid and dont go 150 down a congested highway you should be fine, just as long as you dont try to show off to people you should be ok.

there is no way this is true your payment is less then my car payment alone.
