i was hoping someone could help me find the best option for my 1993 mercury grand marquis GS 4.6L modular v8

the same motor as the 4.6l mustang and ford crown vic police interceptor just with different performance parts, etc.

i've been told the first step to upgrading my engine performance is to chip it(tuner chip/ engine performance module)

was hoping someone could help me find the right one that is not a waste of money and offers the most tuning control if possible.

pwease? :-P

i will give 100 fg if i buy the one you suggest or i may bron8 if i feel like you have provided quality service and informaiton, no promises though.

Don't get a tune until until you have finished modding the engine.

plans for this in the future would help to not recommend something that you will replace rather fast when you really start modding this.

i dont really intend to do to much to this car honestly it is the economy edition so its single exaust and does not have the same performance parts as the other vehicles i listed

the only other things i might consider in the next year or two even is a new short ram cold air intake with the seperate compartment cover

////e

honestly i wouldnt even know where to begin

The intake will get you absolutely nothing. Lonnie Doll at blue oval chips is the most proficient and prolific tuner for panther cars, you won't find a better option. You'll need to buy an sct tuner ~$400 new, less used and pay him to write a tune for your car ~$100. He'll email you the tune and you can load it onto your car's computer.

Unless you do major work to the engine the intake you need is the 80mm maf intake found on mercury marauders and police interceptors. That intake is better than any commercial ram air or k&n or whatever intake available. the only way you can get a better intake is to make one yourself with silicon tubing and insulation

The best help I can offer you for your 93 is a derogatory, "junk it and get a newer car." I've no idea about tuning one without the obdII

And to be rather blunt, why the fuck do you want to tune it without any other mods anyway? Get 182 horsepower instead of 175? Turn it into a 17.8 second car instead of 18 flat? I don't see the point.

The only ford 4.6 I would mod would be the newer 3V. The older ones are garbage.
