Over double the horsepower makes up for 400 lbs.

I'd be willing to bet 3200lbs would be best case scenario with the 4cyl ecoboost. This thing would have to be tiny to get down to c6 z06 weight with a v8. If they get the current gt equivalent down to 3400lbs curb weight that is an accomplishment. Remember it still has back seats.

Half of the random, not even close to being official, renderings look horrible.
If it looks nice, weights little, and still have the same or more power that would be pretty cool. Definitely would mean a higher price though.
Ford has been stepping up their engineering the past several years so it might be a nice surprise.

the c7 concept drawings looked horrible too. not to mention some were completely different from what was revealed.

that one in the article is almost identical to the fusion

This drawing has been floating around the web for over 3 years... It was allegedly the 12, 13, and 14 concept drawing. I've seen it in red, white, and silver. If any Mustang ever actually looks like this, I'll be genuinely surprised.

it better stay on the fusion. that would be horrendous on a mustang. id say the new mustang will have some definitive features but its probably not going to be a huge jump from the current design. kind of like how the current one differs from the launch of the retro body.
