I understand it has to be RWD and best for weight ratio on the car.
So far my ideas have been this:
A few older 90's Toyota's
S13's and S14's
90's mustangs and camaro's I've heard were good
Toyota corolla ae86

I'm just wondering if anyone has personally started out with a lower end car
Also, what did you do to it to best suit you?
I know a bit about it but I heard some of it's preference.
I'm going to be doing this ALL at my local raceway, nothing bad. =p

Any advice or help would be appreciated.
I'm broke right now due to dropping a ton of money on different things.
I've also heard Subaru's are good with the AWD but to get a decent one it's not cheap.

Links or any information is appreciated.

Also, I heard about Supra's being good.
RX7 I've heard suck due to the fact the engine blows on a lot of people at like 80k

Thanks in advance.

if i were to get involved i would get a 90-92 silva. they seem cheap and powerful and allow for some mistakes before you buy a big boy car.

That's what I've been told.
I even looked at some relatively cheaper 94's
Thank you =]
I don't exactly want a "big boy" car more than likely ever..
You tend to rely more on your vehicle, not skills like the skyline tends to be a lot of the car but being a great driver helps of course
I am not doing this for glory or anything
I do it because I love it
I also am building a drag car
but that's after this
I'm going classic for that =p

ae86 is fairly under powered. However, has #animeswag

It'd be a fun adventure. They are not always cheap though.

I know it's fairly underpowered
I got told to do the same thing as 240sx shell and just drop a 5.0 mustang engine
I don't want an overwhelming amount of power though

An unmodified 5.0 engine isn't overwhelming imo.

And rx7s are damn good cars. Just that people don't seem to absorb that just because you can run it up to 14-16k rpm doesn't mean you should.

Yeah, that's true but I was mostly thinking about making my first drift car a car that won't kill me TOO much on gas.
I wouldn't mind if I had it dropped in there.
I just wouldn't be able to enjoy it as often on the streets.
I drive a 92 honda civic lx because the gas is great
I wouldn't even mind a 6 cyl
8 is bad mpg

I heard people who replaced the engine on the rx7 due to it having notorious problems said it was the best car they ever owned

Have you done any homework into what this takes at all? lol. You can't just show up to a drift day and hope for the best. You can't drift with an awd car period, so take that off your list. There's a reason everyone uses 240sxs. If you really want to start pick one up that isn't rusted to hell and start from there.

Yeah. I'm new, not an idiot.
I just don't have the experience which is why I posted.
I wanted others due to the reasoning some states don't have many 240s because of emission and I have yet to check mine.
I have been before and done it in fully done cars.
It's different than making your own and trying to learn to tune it to yourself.
