I have a 2004 1.8t awm ( the front engine one) volks engine and 5-speed tranny lyin around
I would like to build a dune boggey with
Do you think it would work?

Sounds like prime equipment for it to me. Just don't run the exhaust too short.

if mcguyver can build an airplane out of bamboo, trash bags and duct tape, you can make a dune buggy out of car parts.

Of course it would work. Money + imagination anything is possible.
I'd put the engine behind the seats.
