I'm moving down to Sweetwater Texas very soon and I'm buying new tires before I go. I'm mainly debating between sticking to my usual P Zero Nero tires or switching to HTRs. I'm also seriously considering Cooper Zeons.

The car's a 99 v6 Mustang riding on 18x9 konigs, and the spec tire size on these rims is 245/40

Thoughts?

You spend that much money on tires for a pony car? Didn't know people thought tread patterns were cool... always thought they were bought for a more functional purpose... getting hard to keep up with these ricers in my old age

If I wanted a pretty tread pattern I'd be buying zpts.

What I'm looking for is durability. That sandy shit down there is hard on tires, and traction and durability matter no matter what you drive.

Look away from hi po summer tires then. Look for something with a 500 treadwear rating. You shouldn't be worrying about traction anyway.

Any more specific suggestions? I do need a bit of grip just because the car's weight distribution is so far forward stock that it likes to get loose when I get into the throttle, and she's really wild in the rain too. I do know the roads aren't even vaguely curvy down there, so I can expend a bit of cornering grip.

V6 mustang... Buy a cheap all season with a high wear rating. Browse tirerack and discounttiredirect.
