Hello

Having some issue with my transmission.. doesn't happen all the time but it gets annoying.
Problem is from 1st to 2nd gear is sometimes slids and then gives a hard hit on the transmission.

Brought the car to a garage and they found out that there's a hose between the transmission going to the radiator and it was leaking.
They also said the Transmission fuild was burnt which is understandable with the leaking hose.

Question is as follow :
- Is it a bad thing to change the oil ? I'm not sure if it'll fix my problem but I think it's worth a short.

The mechanic guy said it could possibly make things worst.

What do you guys think?

changing ruined fluid can make things worse?

i suppose if he gets drunk and jams a bunch of bb pellets during the fluid change it could get worse.

It is common for new fluid to make things worse in a hurt transmission. If it is already slipping and you put new slippery fluid in it things slip more and it burns the fluid again. If the fluid is burnt you have problems. The leak didn't cause the fluid burn unless enough leaked to cause the fluid level to get extremely low. Top off the fluid and see what happens. I wouldn't do a full flush unless it drives fine for a while after you top it off.

Transmission fluid or oil? I thought you said it had a leak? Either way the trans is slipping. Be ready for a rebuild.

if the line going to the transmission cooler was leaking he probably ran it low and that was causing it slipping. either way its probably done enough damage running low its only a matter of time. i would just keep it filled up with tranny fluid and drive it until it goes out.

That's pretty much what I said. If. It's burnt damage was done. Don't flush it just top it off. Drive it until it breaks.
