okay so the other day, i was driving about 80km/hour and hit a pretty fat pot hole, on the right side of my car,
heard the suspension bottom out, big bang and what not.

now im paranoid, i drive a 09 bmw with 45k on it. bran new pretty much, lease never winter driven etc.
i understand the price tag of repairs associated with a bmw, not a big deal, but id rather not spend a ton of money for some beamer mechanic to tell me i need a new axle or an allignment job etc.

i feel, and this could of been like this before, that my steering wheel is SLIGHTLY, slightly tiltling to the right now. im paranoid too so im not sure.

would there be anyway to find out if something did happen? if something can be fixed, somethings broken etc.

im not very car savy as you can tell, i do have a few friends who are but i figured there would be some intelligent people who could help me out.
car still drives fine, no shaking.. no rattling even at high speeds etc.

CAN ANYONE HELP?

Even if you don't know much about cars you can still crawl under it, as long as nothing is noticeably broke/bent I wouldn't worry about it. No rattling means you didn't knock a tire out of balance, which is always a good thing. You could always take it to some hole in the wall shop and have them take a look if you don't want to pay an actual BMW shop to rape you in costs.

dunno if you have trouble reading or not, but hit pothole, dont want to take it to a mechanic, feel like allignment could be a little off or i could be just seeing things, iso halp suggestions etc.
im sure someone has had this happen to them.

just take it to any local mechanic, have them give it a quick look over. since you arent car savy, that is your best bet.

If you have a 09 BMW with 45k miles, check if your warranty is still active!! BMW warranty and free maintenance is 48months from date of purchase (when brand new 1st owner) or up to 50k miles.

Miles you are definitely still under, but in terms of years, could be borderline.

If your warranty is active, any BMW authorized service center at the dealer is REQUIRED to check any anomaly or complaints WITH NO COST.

Just tell them your car is driving not straight, and its rly bad and it might not be alignment, tell them you feel is something worse like control arm and suspension leak or crack. Just some BS.

Then they have to check indeed if such a problem exist, and if it is only alignment, then they will tell you everything is fine, only your alignment is off. (Then you know what problem you have).

true, i think my warranty actually ends next month? maybe ill have to see if they can pull it up by VIN # and check them out this week.
would allignment be covered?

can any mechanic measure allignment? or do they need certain bmw programs?
thanks for all the advice btw

any place that does alignment can do it easily. If its just off, and not broken.

Alignment is not covered by BMW warranty and service, but if the suspension, shocks, coils, mount, camber, or control arm breaks, you're covered.
