Hey guys,
I've been driving alot lately for my job which is 40 minutes there and back.
I just bought a Mazda 3' S 2006.
It has 88k miles on it already.
Is putting 1k miles on it 20-30 days alot and out of the ordinary?
Anything I should know?
thx.
Just so you know, for future chances.
04-09 have power steering failures that occur around 65-100k miles. Mine failed, but they had a recall for my specific year. I do not know about yours though.
Transmission problems are common in these cars. 3rd and 4th gear slams are all over the forums. All of the people that had the issue got their transmission replaced. Fluid flushes won't fix the problem.
Pcv valve will go bad at around 75-110k. Cheap fix not bad.
Back brakes squeal loud in reverse. Not all of the cars do this, but if it does, just grease the brakes and it should subside.
After driving it a lot, you will hear a lot of suspension noises. It is very common. All you might have to do is replace a bushing or two. Other than that, just a basic grease will solve them.
The Mazda 3 also has A LOT of ticking engine occurrences. It is on mine, also. Nothing is wrong with the engine, but run fuel cleaner through it. It could also be that you are running a higher octane, if you ever do.
These aren't guaranteed to happen, of course, but I always browse the mz3 forums and see these issues regularly stated, and I have experienced some of them too.
I still love my car regardless. Fun car for sure.
