I bought a 03 dodge ram slt quad cab and i get TERRIBLE gas mileage im talking 7-8 mpg. I was wondering if i got my truck tuned how much of an increase I could possibly see.

nah i knew i wouldn't get good gas mileage and im okay with not getting good gas mileage, I would just like to make the gas go as far as I can ya know what I'm sayin.

best thing to do is a tuneup of the usual parts (oil change, spark plugs, wires, air filter, etc) and make sure you have good tires that are properly inflated. if the tires are oversized from what came on it from the factory they can sap gas mileage really bad.

fueleconomy.gov has good info on stock vehicle mpg.

what kind of stuff has been done to the truck? it doesn't have fat mud tires or some such nonsense on it does it?

this plus putting in new o2 sensors would prob help improve gas mileage

lol there are about a dozen trucks i know of in my town like that...red lining just to drive the speed limit seems smart to some people though.
