just picked up a 2008 ktm 250 xc yesterday, going to go riding today and hopefully not murder myself lol.

The truck is a 2009 dodge 3500 megacab 6.7 w/ 5" flo pro TBE , H @ S mini maxx tuner, egr removal, mag hytec rear diff cover + tranny pan and a leveling kit. Next mods will be window tint and then 6'' bds longarm lift with upgraded shocks. Going with 20 '' kmc revolvers ( black ) and 35'' toyo mt's.

you know about mixing 2 stroke gas right? you are going to have to pay a lot of attention to your fuel levels because if you are riding with others and they aren't riding 2 strokes they can't help if you run out.

a 250 2 stroke is going to be a lot of power if you are just starting out...be very easy with it until you get use to it.

Thanks, yea I was reading the manual last night, my buddy I'm going riding with today has a 2stroke as well and some 2 stroke oil. Yea everyone says it has a lot of power lol, I definitely will take it easy.

the real issue with 2 strokes is the power band. some bikes are more forgiving in this area than others but i've seen it screw over a lot of first timers. you won't make full power throughout the entire rev range so if you feel like you don't have enough power at that second for the love of god don't give it more because if you do and the power band catches you off guard you will be riding a wheelie and then you'll be laying on the ground wondering what the hell just happened.

Thanks bud.

So the bike scared the shit out of me for the first ten minutes. I flipped it twice getting it started, but after an hour or so got the hang of it, like you said really just have to watch for that power band to kick in. Had a blast definitely going out riding again soon.

if you have a motocross track in your area you might wanna try it out. it might suck if there are alot of riders so try to go when you have a lot of room to yourself.

first or second gear jumps are pretty straight forward after a few attempts...just remember not to twist your throttle out of fear otherwise you are going to have a bad time when you land.
