Stopped to get gas and the starter wont crank now. Its done it before and I can usually tap it with a hammer and it will work again. Not working.this time. Any advice cause I'm sorta stranded right now

Just need a piece of conductive metal bro. Bridge the gap.

check to see if the wires are connected and haven't gotten cut or pinched. I had a starter wire that had a short one time and it was a pain to find. If its a stick you can push start it in 2nd gear.

1 Raise the hood of the vehicle and locate the solenoid.The solenoid is a round box-type part with a mounting bracket on the back. It has two prongs on the front, a stud on the left and a stud on the right. (talking about the solenoid on the starter)
2 Trace the positive battery cable by hand to the solenoid. This will be the positive side of the solenoid.
3 turn the ignition key to the "On" position.
4 Place the metal end of the screwdriver nearest the handle on the positive side of the solenoid and allow the other end to touch the prong in front of the solenoid. The engine will turn over. Remove the screwdriver as soon as the engine starts.

ahhh lol i thought it said dodge shadow my bad lol should still be the same concept though??? i have clue about bikes

yeah should be. not really sure on their starter ive never had one go bad on the quad and if you did you could always roll start anyway. if he had a hill he could roll start but no idea if thats even an option

it worked the same. Really appreciate it bro. Another question though. Since the solenoid is obviously junk can i run a pushbutton to bypass buyin a new one?
