Is wrapping a car in general dangerous? Will it ruin the paint when they take the wrap off?

Or does that all depend on who does it, and the quality of the wrap?

My dad's been shitting all over me on how I shouldnt wrap my new lancer and that its going to destroy the paint and make my car worth
$3000 less than it should be because of the WRAP.

Wrapping saves the paint quality. You can clear bra the whole car but it's a waste of money for just a lancer.

lmfao my dads like, "diu why dont we just sell your lancer back and buy you a shitty 8-10k car and have you wrap that"

I agree it's not worth it, he'd shit himself even more if I tried to wrap an expensive car,

I'm down to do it though if I get through my dad and I know that it's pretty foolproof (obviously there can be problems but if its in general safe)

How does one take the wrap off? Is the process going to cause damage?

LOL no. Altho some places use automotive adhesive to keep the corners down.... not sure what that does to cars over 5-7 years....

anyway had wrap on my tahoe for 1.5 years and ripped off a few pieces to re-do em and its still stock black gloss finish underneath...... dunno who u heard the horror stories from but I wouldn't be concerned....

matte red wrap in store for my 2013 mustang gt soon

Edit: Oh and also go tell ur dad that a company in the valley wraps luxury vehicles such as lambo, rarri, porsche gt3rs, zr1, gt'r's and much more and it lists on their website that the wrap will preserve the paint job for 5-7 years and they offer warranty on all their work..... then later down the road if you want to sell the car or remove the wrap then you bring it to them and they remove it and give it a detail to have it looking showroom

have it professionally done and your fine..my good friend owns a graphic business, he does decal, car wraps, motorcycle decals all that blah blah

hes never had an issue when taking the wrap off years later. You use the right stuff and have it install and taken off the right way and it actually protects your paint
