Recently bought my first 5 speed and started drivin it over the weekend, its a 92 prelude with a jdm h22 swap. Car is pretty damn quick 0-60 but after that i get smoked by just about anything. Was racin a bit with a buddy from work who has a early 90s suburban and after 60 his acceleration is way better than mine. Is there a trick to speeding up when already in 5th, or do these just have really shitty top end power? Ive heard double clutching into 3rd is the thing to do but im scared to try that

Hit 110 tho, highest speed ive reached drivin myself, just took a while to get there lol

either way you dont try to hit it in 5th, your transmission gear at that point to make your engine spin is too big and takes too much, you have to downshift regularly, double clutching is not used anymore with transmission that have synchros, they do the job for you...

Well thats why im asking, like i said its my first 5 speed and im sure theres alot of stuff i dont know. The car can easily do 70 in 4th but i was told to use 5th gear once i hit 60

Pretty sure it has a cai in it, not sure how good it is tho
