I was very excited to hear that the halfton ram will have a diesel option. However, i read the article and became very letdown...

LOL. I'd rather the 5.9 cummins for sure.
But, I'm confused.
I don't know shit about trucks really, but it says that's a 1/2 ton.
There's no way it weighs 1000lbs

Even i can understand the 5.9 is a little big for this truck application. But the 4bt 3.9L (4cyl cummins) would have been a wet dream for a ton of people
The half-ton is a classification of trucks. i.e ram 1500, ford f150, c/k 1500

Yea, should be a cool truck for sure, but when they said a v-6 diesel i couldn't believe it... Soo much success from the in-line motors...

Yea, the old i6 was pretty tough for a gas job. I'm just waiting to see how much shit these are going to have packed on them... the '10+ 6.7L is a nightmare with EGR/DPF

Amen to that. If i had to guess, emissions plays a huge roll in it all. the old 4bt was never really updated when the 6bt was. It kinda died off. They still use it in some stationary power applications however.

 this has been a while ago now but we put a built 4bt in a suzuki sidekick crawler. Fun rig but too much torque for what we had to work with
