When I start the truck or turn the key over, radio should work. Ha Pioneer radio so I check the wires and only way the radio comes on is if I put the red and yellow wire together. But when I do that, it doesn't save my memory. What's the problem?

the red wire should go to something that switches the power on/off. if you ran wires on your own stick it in the radio fuse in the fuse block. the yellow wire goes to a constant power like straight to the battery. did you run the wires yourself or are you plugging it into the factory wiring harness?

did you chec both your ''hot'' and ''switch on''wires to make sure they had power? from the info you have given you only seem to get power from the ''switch on'' wire witch leads me to think you have a burnt fuse on your constant hot wire.
your fuse is burnt, you might actually have 2 of those witch is why its still not working even tough you have checked 1 fuse.
same issue in my friends subaru he had a radio fuse inside the car and 1 in the engine baie, my other buddy in his alero had one on driver side fuse box and passenger side fusebox

I use factory wiring but when I put red to red it doesn't work. Only yellow to yellow. All fuses are good. Where else would I check?

did you chec the voltage with a volt meter? if all your fuses are correct you should have your hot wire permanently giving you 12v no mater the key position and your ''switch on'' giving you 12v only when the keys are switched on/acc

my 96 suburban had the same problem and this was the only solution i found.

the 12v switch has to be connect to something that turns on only when the key is on on or accessory setting so ignition switch or light switch

Still doesn't work. I connect the red wire to a wire that turns on when I turn the truck on and nothing. Only works if I have the Yellow and Red wire together. >.<

just run a new one. its not hard and i will solve the problem.

all you need is a switch 12v which is as simple as running a wire to your lighter plug or just fuse tapping it if you have a test light.

did you even read my post's? if you don't have a volt meter or need help on how to use it just say so.
the reason it only works when you put both your red and yellow together is because you only get current from your ''switch on'' witch is either yellow or red it changes from model/make to an other. the radio will turn on but all settings will be lost as soon as you turn it of because both your ''hot'' and ''switch on'' wires on the radio will be powered by the ''Switch on'' wire of your trucks harness.
you need to find out why your hot wire has no power. or just simply pass a new one if you cant find out... chec for burnt fuses im telling you

btw the red wire on your truck harness does not automatically equal the red wire on the radio harness, constant 12v and switch on 12v can either be yellow or red depends on model/make like i said
