Finally got my car

I bought a 1998 Eddie Bauer Ford Explorer for 3,500. The seller was the owner (Mom's) son who so happened to be a mechanic

He put on brand new tires, replaced the brake pads/rotors, did a transmission flush, replaced the heater box, and detailed the SUV

135,000 original miles on it. Leather interior no rips/stains. Sun roof working oder.

if the tires were actually brand new its not that bad of a deal.

It's alright, I'd say if it's good condition then you paid what you wanted to.

Not terrible, but it's still a 15 year old ford. Make sure you go through it well before you beat the hell out of it.

Under the hood is what really sold me on the car

The spark plugs were brand new, all the valves were sparkling clean, the transmission fluid was flushed every 20,000 miles with receipts, the oil was changed religiously every 3,000, the battery was new, everything was clean and working efficiently. The exterior and interior of the car were also very clean

Yes he pulled the heads off for me to show me the cleanliness and validity of the maintenance done over the years
