that's about it
be prepared to invest a ton of time / money into it.

Yeah I've taken a few flying lessons and am about half way to getting my single engine license.

It's crazy expensive if you are doing it like I am, entirely out of pocket. Career is definitely a cheaper way to get the certs by far.

Once you get your single engine, you'll have to maintain a certain amount of flight time in order to keep the certification current.

My best friend is going Career and just got his single engine 2 days ago. We're going up sometime this next week to celebrate.

Becoming an Air Force pilot is perhaps one of the hardest jobs offered by them....everyone wants to fly the attack aircraft. On top of everything they designate where they want you to go after you complete flight school. You could want F-15s but they'll put you in C-130s, I have a friend going through Air Force flight training school right now. He says he wouldn't have done it if he knew then what he knows now.
