I was told that a car tire should have around 32 PSI.

My tire is completely flat I am planning to pump it up with an air compressor. The thing is the air compressor right now says 80PSI output. Do I have to lower it to 32?

if your tires completely flat it probably has a hole in it? and no just put the air chuck on and start airing it up you can check it with a tire guage or you could just eyeball it
also if its completely flat it might be off the bead

the tire pressure will slowy increase, it will not istantly inflat to 80 psi, inflate it and compare to your other tires as it grows into a normal shape, at that point stop inflating it and chec the presure with a pressure gage, release air or add air depeding on if you are over/under 32 psi

ps and also wat jack said, it might not inflate due to a hole or simply it might be off the bead

Anybody know how long it takes to inflate a flat tire?

I have an air comopressor that had 200psi in the tank and used it to pump the tire, but it can't tell if it got any better.. just now

I woke up one morning to a flat tire, the only thing I can think of that might have caused the the problem is a pothole.

Should only take a minute to fill. Sounds like theres either a split or large hole in your tire. A pothole can also unseat the tire. Put your spare tire on and have the other checked.

Should say on the sidewall what to inflate it to. Different brands require different psi. The meats on my car right now require 51 psi.

If you're using an air compressor at home, you need more pressure in the tank, than what it's going in to. If there's equal pressure between the tire and the tank, air won't flow.

Okay, I tried to pump it up again with 80psi in the tank..

It won't get any bigger. I want to put on a spare tire but I can't unloosen the tire bolt without an impact gun.

Do you think there will be major damage to my tire as the car continues to sit on it?

Edit: umm, done question but should I jack up the car and then pump it.. the tire is flat

thats why i never let a shop touch my car should always be able to get those lugs off yourself plus having them so tight u cant get them off like that can lead to the studs snapping off and the car should be fine sitting there as long as it isnt that way for a very long period of time

If the tire is good, it shouldn't matter.

If the tire is bad, no amount of air will help.

If you don't mind the risk of possibly ruining the tire, you can SLOWLY drive your car up your driveway, so you can get to your impact gun.

/e

Just re-read your other thread. Do *you* own an impact gun? Your other thread didn't specify where the gun was that put the lugnuts on.

You don't need an impact gun to get lugnuts off unless they weren't torqued correctly when they put them on.
You have a 4 way? Do what they said in the other thread and get some leverage. Big wrench or a pipe.

Make sure you're trying to turn to the left...
