I have an idea how some folks would answer, but just curious as to what poll results would be...

Under the hypothetical that you had unlimited cash flow for your project car, would you work on everything yourself, or would you have a shop work on your car?

Any shop you can think of; again, the hypothetical is that money isn't a problem.

It would be a mixture. I voted DIY but certain things I would pay a top level shop to do. Like chassis work. I'd ship the bitch to a top chassis shop and let them do the whole SFI 25.3 conversion at one time along with the annoying parts of the weight reduction.

The only thing I take my cars in for are inspections and alignments. Everything else I do myself.

Even with a bajillion dollars, I'd still build all my cars.

Besides saving obvious money, its nice to acquire some practical skills. Learn by doing.

i'd probably have the best shops available do most of it. if i had unlimited funds i'd make a damned monster of a car and i wouldn't be able to do most of the work myself.

I voted shop because there are a lot of things that I personally can't do yet.
I would definitely do everything that I could by myself though.

Like FMX said.. a mix of both. Some detail things I would prefer to do myself but most things like chassis work, etc. I would leave to the best builder available.

depends on how much time i had.
but i dont think you feel the same sense of accomplishment if you let a shop do all the work.

if i had an unlimited cash flow, i wouldnt necessarily build a car that is already out there, i would design and build my own car.

Heh. Responses were about what I would've guessed. ;)

Same boat as most of you guys; the stuff I *could* do by myself, I would (for the joy of doing it, of course!)

Under the hypothetical of unlimited funds, I'd also be more inclined to try and work on the unfamiliar stuff more, since I'd have the safety net of cash to fix whatever I break. :P

The most important part of having unlimited funds is having unlimited funds for tools and shop space. Man I can only dream about what that would look like.
