I've owned a dog for 13 yrs and I'm curious as to if cats behave in any way like dogs? Are they similar in how you train them with rewards and such? Never really had much interactions with cats before so any house cat pet related info would be nice :D

Cats are typically more independent.. once they're potty trained you don't really have to worry about them. Easy to potty train, usually, from my experience with four cats. Rewarding them with treats isn't really a thing.. I kind of just give them treats occasionally. They never misbehave and I never have any reason to "coax" them with treats.

I've had a lot of cats and a lot of dogs. The big thing new cat owners seem to forget about is the scratching. Cats can and will scratch the shit out of your furniture, carpet, etc if you don't correct it ASAP.. I'd recommend getting a book or just reading online. Cats don't need as much attention as dogs, usually, but they do need help :)

Yep no problem. If you have any specific questions that you can't find a decent answer to fee free to PM me. I love cats. But yeah really just potty training and preventing scratching is the biggest stuff to think about. Also just be aware that you might not end up with a cat whose personality is how you hoped. My cats are all really lazy and snuggly but there are definitely some cats out there who can be really hyper and crazy especially when they're younger. From my experience, males are usually more like that and keep to themselves a bit more.

Anyway, good luck!

Dogs are your dumb best friend who never leaves your side, have no concept of personal space, and are heartbroken if you leave them.

Cats are a gay aquantaince who frown at you when you enter a room, look disapprovingly at most things you do, and purposefully leave the room if they think you need or want companionship.
