My cats nose has swollen right on the bridge. It literally happened overnight.

Went to the Vet, Vet said they had never seen anything like it so they gave him a steroid injection to try and reduce the swelling. 3 days later and still no change really, still swollen as it was.

Any ideas what it could be, or what I can do to help him with it? Naturally we'll be going to the vet again, but I wasn't impressed with the vets prognosis of "Never seen this before, random guess time"

Cheers :)

Maybe he/she cut the inside of it while smelling bushes or some rare insect pitched it

Dunno what the treatment could be, camill is usually good for cats in swollen/sore cases

Some powder from cat litter can build up blockages in the nasal passages, when their looking for a spot to poop.. Causing irritation and inflammation of the nose.

Pulled that outa thin air, seemed convincing :)

If a licensed veterinarian didn't know, a web forum of teenagers definitely won't know

You've been here since 07 - you should know that there is a wide range of skills on this website.

With regards to his nose, still swollen. His habits have not changed at all, still eating sleeping and purring as usual.

Got a second opinion from a seperate vet - he said that he can't be 100% sure without a £600 scan, but the last time he saw this he said it was cancer.

My cat is 11 years old, he's happy at home, and he's still himself so unfortunately, I think this is gonna have to take it's course.

Why wouldn't he offer a biopsy with histopathology?
