Okay let me get this straight.
I have a 9 years old female labrador, she actually looks like she's 3-4 years old lol, super healthy etc (irrelevant to my problem lol. just saying)

Anyway, she's a "house" dog...she can go whereever she wants at home in the house (aka shes not in a cage) or in the backyard and I don't have to look for her cuz I know she'll stay in the yard and come back on the deck to enter back in once she's done peeing or taking a shit cuz she's the best!

If I ask her anything, she'll do it...best dog ever
Very friendly and nice to all humans ever as well, would never bite anyone..if anyone was to hit her she'd probably just lay on her back and do nothing lol
most relax dog in the house I ever had, soooooooo calm...unbelievable...

BUT as Sooooon as I show her the leash to go for a walk, she's starts jumping every fucking where in the house due to overexcitement and she's been doing that for 2 years+ acting like she's never been outside ever

anyway...
The problem is for the first 4-5 years, she wasn't really going for walks or seeing other dogs/cat on the street or doing much exercise beside playing ball in the yard or stuff like that without being social with other animals
I never liked to walk, too boring for me

then for 2 years I was kinda going to walk with her 1-2 times a week to get her something to do but she was wayyyyyyy too fucking excited and she's walking at like 52935029 km/h and pushing on the leash
I never really bothered to teach her how to walk bcuz she wouldn't listen due to being overexcited (lack of exercise in her early life) and I wasn't going for walks enough for me to care and I figured she was too old to learn

when I told her to calm down and walk straight she wouldnt listen to a shit I say even if I give her a small tap...she'll stop for a sec or if I yell but then exactly 2 seconds after she'll act like nothing happen and fucking push on the leash walking at like 523985398 km/h again

literally annoying as fuck...worst of all is when there's dog on the street very close walking towards me or on the other side of the street...she wants to run to them (last couple seconds until we're past them) and sometimes bark at other dog if they're close while the other dogs do absolutly nothing and I look like a fool because I can't "control" my dog

tl;dr
dog is hyper excited when she sees other dogs acting like she's never seen a dog before even tho I've been going to walk her for like 2-3 years straight after I come back from the gym 2-3-4 times a week (usually walk her for like 30-45 mins)
dog is overexcited when it comes to go for a walk...acts like she never went for a walk ever and push on the leash all fucking day because of all this extra energy in her (she'll stop pushing on the leash after she's tired around like 50 mins or so depending if it's hot or not outside)

in the summer if it's hot she'll be tired after 30 mins or so and start walking slowly and give me no problem

anyway...its just annoying, I realize now I shouldn't ever let her walk at her own speed in her early life when I went for walks but idk how to correct this mistake
sometimes I just feel like not walking her anymore because thats how bad it pisses me off

Download p5 pro plan app.

Dogs are never too old to learn.

I've taught my 4 1/2 month old doberman, who has an attention span of 10 seconds, to sit while I hook up her collar and leash.

If she starts pulling on the leash I freeze in my tracks until she turns around, walks back to my left side and than I give her a treat. Walks around the block takes an hour at least Lol sometimes more depending on how much she's acting up

what about contacts with other dogs on the street

she wants to play with them kinda and she's like protecting or kinda showing that she's owning the place or something

I don't usually see too many dogs because of where I live but when I do its a bit annoying...sometimes she wont do anything tho, just depends how far they are lol
she usually try to run at the dog if they're walking towards me or just on the other side of the street and I have to give a big snap on the leash to make turn her around, because she's a big dog, lots of strength lol
