Whenever I transfer to a university, my doberman will be 2 years old. Is it hard to find a pet friendly place to live? Would it help if I had a Canine Good Citizen certificate?

No property manager will care about that certificate. Your most likely chance, and best for the dog, will be to rent a room in a home with a yard from a smaller time landlord.

Is that generally more expensive? I guess it'd depend on the options I choose

Yeah especially with dogs like that, dobeys have bad reps with most landlords already, just like pits and rotts

That's gay. Not all dobie/rottie or pit owners are ignorant piece of shit trainers. My dobe is a sweetheart  with other people and dogs
