this is only a few of literally thousands of pictures we have of Maggie. This is Maggie, my mom got me her as a surprised birthday present when i was 11. My very first dog. She was awesome. all the nicknames we had for her, maggie, mags, maggiemags, magnum, pain the ass, whichever one fit at the time. My mom got her from a rescue. she was awesome. taking her for walks, running out in the field at the park trying to get the geese but unfortunately they always got away. playing with her with her toys getting a nice game of tug of war with her. my growl was no where near as intimidating to her as hers was to me. i always got her back by doing the fake throw and she just looks at me like "what, i knew you didn't throw it. pfft." She was always attached to my mom at the hip. wherever my mom went, this furry ball was always right there. The things we had to do in order for my mom to leave the house and not add another 100 scratches to the door lol. when we moved, the new house had all wooden floors. it was funny watching maggie come to the house for the first time. she would be trying to fun as fast as she could only to be standing in the same spot for like 5 seconds before she actually took off. or her trying to make a turn to fast and her body keeps on going into the wall, but of course that didnt stop her. the one good thing about all wooden floors is that we ALWAYS knew where maggie was in the house at all times. how? *click clack click clack click clack" 24/7! They say border collies are the smartest dogs in the world. I completely agree after all the tricks she pulled off on me or atleast tried too. i could be eating in the living room and ask her if she would want to go outside. she would get all excited and go down the stairs and to the back door. so i would set my plate down on my seat go down the stairs to the back door to let her out. and right when i would get to the back door, she would bolt up the stairs and take my food right off my damn plate! I guess it isn't as bad as other times though. Like walking away from the kitchen for 5 minutes and come back to only 1 and a half chicken breasts are left from the 10 that were made. idk who cried more, my grandmom who made them or maggie because her stomach was hurting after downing them so fast. she was such a pain in the ass but what dog isn't? within the past few months we found out Maggie had aggressive cancer and there was really nothing that could have been done. she was 12, almost 13. the past few weeks my mom made a bucket list for her. go to Wendys and get her own full meal. have some steak, eat at the table of course! gave her some alcohol (she didn't drink much anyways).hotdogs, watermelon, ice cream. SHe loved ice cream, she got that a few times. OM NOM NOM!!! the past few weeks no matter where we went whether it was my mom taking me to work, or going to a store maggie came for the ride. she wasn't getting excited about anything until my mom pulled her car keys out, she knew it was time for a ride. We had Maggie for 9 years. In the 9 years we made countless memories with Maggie. some were bad, some were good, some were funny as hell. We didn't want her to be in pain anymore from the cancer so she was put down yesterday. The house is quiet and empty. you don't really realize how much someone effects you until they are gone. everytime i set my food down, it would have to be in a high place, keep all the door open just enough so she could get through. No one to gladly pick up any of the food i drop on the floor. no one to make me trip in the kitchen because she is at my feet waiting for something to fall. no one to lay at the end of my bed and bite my foot because i accidently kicked her in my sleep. She wasn't just a dog, she was family and nothing will change that. R.I.P Maggie. 7/12/14 WE will always Love you. Gone but never forgotten.
