the article talks about how 'Gregory Berns a professor of neuroeconomics at Emory University' and his team did mri scans on dogs and came to the conclusion that dogs have feeling at the same level as children have, on the top a picture of a dog which suspiciously looks like belonging to the breed as our previous dog who died last year:

Same case with pigs and cows etc. but people still eat them for some reason. Makes them cannibals then I guess.

Dogs aren't people.

having feelings doesn't make a dog a person anymore than a person having hair makes them a dog.

On the first pic it's an irish setter, might be that, or at least it's probably a setter on the op's pic, either gordon, irish or english.
Well Britanny spaniel have been bred by mating with English Setters, very similar dog.

I, myself am a owner of a female english setter. :p
