He is a 10 month old lab/heeler/pit mix, so he is pretty large. The only problem is he chews up all of his toys in no time at all. The only toy he hasn't been able to chew through is a hard rubber kong toy. I give him 6 inch raw hides and he tears through it in less than 5 minutes.

So does anyone have any suggestions for tough, durable toys that will be fun for a big puppy?

I have a Husky ( very big on the chewing but not powerful just average but will sit for hours munching )

Buy a toy called "Starmark Everlasting Dog treat Ball" and you get treats to put in, The treats are solid so this keeps the dog busy licking and trying to bite it ( helps clean the teeth too ) Hard to destroy and you get a few different flavors.

the only toys my Doberman seems to not destroy are the large extra durable kongs, and ropes (big ropes)

I have tried the so called indestructible toys and she can tear through those in a couple of minutes.

also, you might try bubbles, as odd as it seems I could set up a bubble machine on my back deck, and my Doberman will try to catch the bubbles for a while.

I had the same issue with my German Shepard. I found this 3 1/2 foot rope toy at wall mart and he hasn't been able to destory it yet. Cost like 5$ i think.
Hes had it for about a year.

I had a weimaraner that would chew most things in a few minutes, but I got him some stuff made by nylabone and they would last a long time. something like this: http://www.nylabone.com/product-finder/by-product-type/big-chews-for-big-dogs-beef-bone.htm
