try to be stern, but not mean. be consistent. dont ever let it be ok that the dog peed, but dont punish the dog for an accident. show/tell the dog its not ok, and it sounds like the dog might be having an issue because it has been confined for a long time? maybe try and bring it out as soon as u get home and greet it in a place where it is appropriate to piss.

I can't stress enough how important this advice is. If you're not going to raise him properly, you're in deep shit. My ex wanted a dachshund and got one, raised it poorly and to this day the dog sometimes takes a dookie in the house and pees on the floor. And he gets walks two-three times a day.

Epic fucking fail.

Dog has been left all day = bored and full blader, Get someone to let her go pee during the day and you need to walk her in the morning to get rid of the energy so the dog is happ sleeping sll day, Also when you leave you can hide sweets round the house to keep the dog occupied or get a kong toy.

Me and my Girlfriend have a hound/american bulldog mixed that we got of the side of the road for free. He is sooooo sweet. We figured that he would not do well with kids but sure enough he is amazing with our son. his name is Skooby. we love him

When u get home ignore the dog until she is calm and each time get closer n closer. Will take about 1-2 weeks for her to learn that when she is calm she gets attention

you're right about not being mean to her. she shouldn't get punished for being happy to see you.

this a good advice if you can have someone take her out while you're gone.

also good advice but don't ignore her. take her out as soon as you get home cuz...she has to pee lol!

in the same sense don't be all like hey baby!! i missed you!!! (and give her all kinds of attention before you take her out.) instead just calmly walk through the door and put her leash on her and take her out.

when she's done relieving herself, give her all the love and attention that you can. :)
