My gf has lived in her condo she bought for about a year and the building manager decided the other day to tell her to get rid of her dog which she's had ever since she moved in.

Apparently on the contract she signed, it said the max weight is 15lbs for a dog, but her dog (a beagle) is about 30lbs (only looks to be 20lbs max).

Are these assholes really allowed to make her get rid of her dog after all this time?

if the manager knew about the dog being on the premises when she moved in, i think your girlfriend can fight it.
if anything just say that the dog has gained some weight since she moved there. good luck on this!

go to town's tenant board, get help there.
getting rid of an animal from its home is very wrong. can be fought.

Did she buy the condo or is she renting?
If it's bought, then you can probably fight with the board. Most likely they'll say though that you did sign the contract and what not. But see what can happen.
If she's just renting, just move on. No need to go through the hassle to fight it if so.
