The wife and I have been trying to adopt one or two kittens but craigslist isn't working out. Any idea what kind of adoption sites are out there?

have you tried going to local vets or animal shelters? i always see flyers when a new litter of puppies/kittens is born

Craiglists isn't the best place to adopt any animal.
You can try a local shelter and/or rescue.
Seeing how you're from Jersey(Not far from where I am), I can assist you in finding a great animal. I know a few rescue in New Jersey that have many Kittens available for adoption.
As well as Staten island, which isn't that far away from you.
