Cat A: Pepper (18 lbs)
Cat B: Beans (7 lbs)

Adopted these Siamese brothers about 5-6 months ago. Pepper obviously has a weight problem and if its not fixed will get diabetes. So I purchased some strong diet food from the Vet (Only supposed to be on this food for 1-3 months because it lacks so much) Well now he eats it and is fine BUT Beans the 7 lb cat wants to eat this too. I already put up (Science Diet food, What they gave them at the Vets. I prefer Blue Buffalo) on the counter where Pepper cant jump but Beans will only eat the diet food and wont touch the normal food even with treats being mixed in.

So my question is. How do i get the small cat to eat the normal food and not the diet. Making certain feeding times is not a option with my wife's and my jobs being different times from month to month.

Second question.

They both have allergies or feline herpes which cant be treated according to the vet. We have taken them in multiple times to multiple vets and they all say the same thing.

Any suggestion on what i can give them or help them with either allergies or feline herpes? Giving them allergy medicine doesn't work since they foam at the mouth due to the bitter taste.

I always give them filtered water fresh food and liter and give them lysine treats to boost their immune system. Also i leave out a heating blanket and wipe their noses when they are runny.

as far as the food goes, i would mix the science diet and blue buffalo together (not the whole bag) and let your cats eat it that way. ween them over to just the blue buffalo. cats can be really picky.

i'm not sure on what to do about the allergies though.

Ya i just want the little one to eat the normal science diet and not the actual diet food from science diet. Once this bag of diet food is over the little one will get normal blue buffalo and the big one will get the weight control blue buffalo. Hopefully.

For the food, at feeding times I would separate them, put them into different rooms with their foods. As for herpes... how did they get herpes?

I'm guessing the other shelter. Its not like human herpes.

I couldent do the feeding time do to our jobs switching times so much.
