So i adopted a 3-Month old Male kitten from the shelter and brought it home. I have another one that i adopted about a year ago and things got along fine between them after 1-2 days. My new kitten loves to sit on my laptop and purrrr for hours. My older cat just stares at me while laying down and i feel really bad most of the time. I dont know if my cat is jealous or doenst like the new kitten, but i feel like returning the kitten back to the shelter because my other cat is always hiding and sleeping. AND YES I try to show more love to my older cat as well. Anyone have any suggestions that can help me out. PLEASE!

well, give them time to "know" eachother... Try to put both in a neutral's house room, where both have never been there, keep an eye on them because if your older cat doesn't like the new one, probably will attack... If they are normal there is no problem..

The older cat needs some time to adjust to a new comer invading its territory.
I say keep them apart in different rooms and keep an eye on them at all time.
Eventually they will get used to each others scent.
I had this same problem and with in 2 weeks they were best buddy's :)

If this problem keeps on going you can also use feliway spray .
This spray is to calm cats down and its also a positive scent that cats react to telling them its safe and friendly.

Best of luck and please give the kitten a chance and don't let him go.
