About a month ago, my sister found a baby kitten stuck in some vines outside, and she had maggots crawling on her.
My sister took the kitten inside and washed it. She's an orange tabby, abandoned, and maybe not even a week old - her eyes were not fully open.
At first we were going to take care of her until she got teeth and was able to eat on her own and give her to the local pet store or vet, but now we named her, bought tons of things for her, and it looks like we're keeping her.
Everyone else decided that her name was going to be Shayla, even though I really wanted to name her Lord of Cuteness (yes, I know that Lord is a masculine term).
She has teeth now, and bites on pretty much anything and everything.
She's maybe 4-5 weeks old, but she doesn't drink water out of a bowl, she just stares at it. We still bottle feed her milk so she doesn't dehydrate, but she eats soft food now.
She has a tendency to play with cords and bite people while playing, which obviously isn't a good thing. I can handle the biting for now and we're trying to teach her, but the cords are the bigger problem.
MOST of the time, she will use one of the several litter boxes around the house, but she also seems to go in the kitchen... but my mom doesn't want a litter box in the kitchen.

** The most unique thing about her is that she has two different color eyes, it's strange but really.. amazing! Her left eye is normally darker than her right, and will change from brown, gray, and blue. I've seen her right eye turn lighter versions of blue, gray, green, yellow, brown, and mixes of those colors. Sometimes both of her eyes are brown, but when her eyes change colors, they change to different colors and it just seems amazing!

Anyone have any other stories? ^_^

All the cats I've had were strays. No interesting stories though.

My kitten crawls up my arm, sits on my shoulder, shoves her face into my ear and purrs.... it feels weird

 my kitty just trapped herself in a cage, opened the door, and closed it again.

... but then she opened it and pounced at my face :bouncy:

once i was walking with my friends dog that i always baby sat. this really cute little pomeranian-chihuahua mix came running up to us. had no colar on and looked well taken care of. he had a microchip but the phone number was out dated. i called and left messages on both numbers on the microchip but nobody ever called me back. his name on the chip was Taco. i took him in and gave him a really good home for as long as i could keep him. i kept his name as Taco. (he really responded to that nice.)

i had to move out of state and couldn't afford to take him with me so i found a really good home for him. the lady had 3 other dogs and a big backyard and lots of money. i still have contact with her and Taco is still doing really well with his 3 buddies. :)

heterodichromia isn't that rare in cats

the biting is an affection/play thing

cords killed a cat like 234895734 years ago so they are the natural enemy

source: I have a cat

real talk: vaccinate + microchip + desex.

it may not be rare, but it's interesting to see the cats eyes change to like 5+ different colors B)
