I used to have a cocker spaniel and he was awesome, but a little bigger than what I'm looking for now. I don't like chihuahuas of poodles or pugs etc. can you help me think of a more manly house dog? I also dont like weinie dogs. Lmk.

Look into Miniature Pinschers- I have a 4 pound male (very small for the breed) and he thinks hes the biggest dog there ever was. There are also 6 total in my immediate family and they are good dogs.
Going to your local humane society is an awesome way to let a dog "find you" and you would know the size right away and mutts tend to be the best dogs.
Hope this helps!

i guess Mittelspitz is good dog here cause it naturally keeps eye on house safety..barks very easily, but it's handled wit training obv.
they keep good company for ppl/other pets and r extremely loyal to the owner.

shiba inu. although very expensive dogs. they get to be like 40 pounds and are alot of fun.
sadface'd that you don't like Chihuahuas. if you get a good one it can be your best friend.
may i suggest a pom/chi?
usually very sweet dogs.
