i know this is probably the most commenly asked question but

my two dogs are getting to the stage where they are gonna kick it and give themself eternal rest so im gonna look around for a new dog to take there place once they decieze.
i have two king charles now but im looking for something with abit more territorial defensive guard dog almost, i dont want your typical german shepard but i want something smart and strong.

i was thinking about maybe getting a Rotty or something im not sure i just dont want another dumb dog like king charles haha there good but dumb well atleast i brought them up that way give me your opinions!!

I've got a great dane and although it's an excellent guard dog, it's not the sharpest tool in the shed if you know what I mean.

Golden retrievers are relatively easy to train - really smart dogs. Or you could opt for a doberman as well... they're very smart dogs with the right training. If you fancy something a bit smaller and less offensive - go for a springer spaniel... really easy to train.

for a good strong scary looking guard dog you should get a doberman. they are big friendly smart dogs unless someone breaks in your house then the robber is in trouble, they look great and pretty scary lookin.

dont just get a dog that you want as a guard dog, you must choose by decidin how much walks and training you can probide each day/

Iv only seen 1 king charles and they are brave, wont back down from nothin.

Get a mastiff they are smart loyal gentle giants but they are amazing guard dogs they don't even need to be taught to guard they just do it. they are amazing family dogs too great with kids.
also they weigh 150-250 lbs... fuk with that.

German shepherds are good dogs I have 2 right now and they are smart and loyal good for guard dogs.
Dobermans are known to be amazing watchdogs too.

ahh i forgot about a mastiff, even if they are bad at guardin if you broke into someones house and seen a huge mastiff thats enough to scare people away.

only problem with them is they dont know how big they are, you gotta make sure to train them not to jump ect cayse they will easily knock you down.
